Llandrindod Wells is a Victorian Spa town with all the amenities you expect from a modern town. "Llandod" as it is locally known, is 40 minutes drive from Hereford, just over an hour from Aberystwith and just over an hour from Cardiff.
Llandrindod Wells is the administrative centre for Powys making it the hub of Mid Wales. Educationally it is well catered for with primary, secondary and tertiary educational establishments within the town itself.
There is a wide range of shops catering for all needs as well as banks, building societies and a main post office. There are 2 major supermarket chains already present in town with Tescos opening in the near future. Llandrindod also hosts a thriving outdoor market each Friday with a large variety of stalls.
Llandod is a hive of activity with something for every-one. The town has a character born from its 'Victorian heyday' and has a well-maintained and rustic charm about it with all the modern conveniences.
Some of the societies and clubs that thrive include needlework clubs, a golf club, rugby football and cricket teams, bowling, tennis, angling, churches, museums and an Arts Centre. The town also boasts a bowls and outdoor skateboard/rollerskate park. Literally something for every-one! http://www.llandrindod.co.uk

The annual Victorian festival is held in August when locals and businesses step back into the time of Victorian Llandrindod Wells. It's a great time to taste delicious traditional treats and foods, enjoy the Victorian costumes and listen to music from the Victorian bandstand and live theatrical performances set in a bygone era. Great fun for all ages!
The local railway station and Heart of Wales railway line, originally opened in 1865, has a thriving and continually growing service schedule, with steam trains occasionally visiting the town during the summer.
As you travel out of town toward the golf course you pass the beautiful Lake Park where you can feed the ducks and swans or drop your fishing line.
Travelling in the other direction out of Llandrindod Wells, and only about 7 miles away, is the breathtaking Elan Valley complete with its stunning string of dams. It is the perfect place for walks to enjoy the great outdoors.
